There are a number of sources of bike path data out there. We are working to combine them into a single authoritative data source, but in the meantime here are a few links to data you can access right now.
- Existing Bikeways as developed by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) and the County Department of Public Works: SCAG_DPW_BIKEWAYS_EXISTING (zipped shapefile)
- Metro’s Bike Paths: http://developer.metro.net/introduction/bikeways-data/download-bikeways-data/ KMZ format only.
Various cities have their own datasets as well.
Our goal is to create a distributed updating system that will also provide visualization and routing tools that will make the data shine:
